Moon Race 2001

THE N1 TRIUMPHANTLY FLIES!

As planned on Saturday, July 21, 2001, the N1 flew spectacularly at LDRS XX in a proud and glorious moment for workers all over the world.

Building was complete by the time the rocket arrived at LDRS on Wednesday and by Friday night (late at night), it was ready to load onto the launch pad.

The rocket flew straight and true; We lit all 42 motors and all three stages worked perfectly. Truly a fantastic achievement.

Recovery was rough because the parachutes didn't inflate fully, but the pieces were recovered and the booster is now in the Rocketeer Media museum.
